Dr. Ngo Vy Thao Profile

Dr. Ngo Vy Thao is currently the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environment and Natural Resources at Nong Lam University, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. She has been a lecturer at the university since 2009, actively involved in teaching, supervising research, and academic leadership. Dr. Thao also collaborates as an environmental law trainer for various enterprises and serves as a local expert for ASIIN—the German accreditation agency for engineering and natural sciences.

Her core expertise lies in aquatic ecology, waste treatment and management, and greenhouse gas mitigation. She has supervised numerous undergraduate and postgraduate theses in environmental science fields and participated in several national and international research projects. Dr. Thao is also an active contributor to environmental consultancy and education, working with governmental bodies, private companies, and international organizations on projects related to pollution control, resource management, and climate vulnerability assessments.

Dr. Thao earned both her Ph.D. and Master’s degrees in Environmental Studies from Ehime University, Japan, where she conducted pioneering research on microbial protein degradation in seawater. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, Vietnam National University. Her academic training laid a strong foundation for her multidisciplinary research and teaching contributions in environmental science.
